A video from one of the Apopka Police Department’s surveillance cameras captures the danger and power of a Florida lightning strike.

The lightning strike happened around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday as a powerful storm rolled through downtown Apopka.

The strike knocked out the power to the police station and damaged multiple electrical transformers, the Apopka Fire Department said.

The Apopka Fire Department was called to check out a haze in the building, but fire officials said no fire or damage was found.
