Police Release Body Cam video of Tallahassee Peeping Suspect

Video has been released of a Tallahassee man’s arrest in connection to armed home invasion, sexual battery and kidnapping in Central Florida.

The Titusville Police Department says Benjamin Victor Hovan 32, of Tallahassee was arrested on Thursday around 11:30 a.m.

Hovan was arrested after officers responded to a stolen vehicle in Casselberry.

They an officer noticed a man acting suspiciously at a GasKwick convenience store. When an officer checked the license plate of the man’s car, he realized it had been stolen after a home invasion in Miami.

Hovan was identified through fingerprints discovered at an apartment and in a stolen car that was found abandoned Tuesday.

Video released by the Titusville Police Department shows officers shocking Hovan with a Taser before bringing him down for the arrest.

The full video has been redacted due to several active investigations on Hovan. The video released shows the first minute and a half of the arrest:

Police believe Hovan is could be involved in a string of other crimes, starting in Tallahassee on June 28 or June 29 when he broke into a home and stole a car.

A home was burglarized in Maitland after the home invasion in Casselberry on Saturday. Hovan was identified as a person of interest in that case.

On Wednesday, Hovan robbed a 62-year-old woman of her jewelry before pistol-whipping her and stealing her car. Titusville police said he was in that woman’s car when they arrested him.

Hovan is due to face a judge on Friday.
